Week 5- "Alice Weir"

This piece was so compelling to me. I wanted to know so much more about Alice Weir, the seeming subject of the piece, but I didn't learn much. Alice is the subject of the piece but the speaker seems to not be able to focus on his/her alleged subject, as he/she gets easily distracted by their surroundings. Their seems to be so much hustle and bustle about this train station. As the speaker states, however, it is rush hour and Alice Weir appears to be a regular at this train station. But what is it about her that draws everyone to watch her? The speaker claims that everyone is watching her, but she doesn't appear to be doing anything interesting. All the speaker sees her do this particular time is get off the train and wait for a taxi. What is so compelling about that? I want to know her story.

It is actually quite frustrating to me that the speaker diverts his attention to something else. He/she seems to enjoy people-watching. He watches a family interact with each other and then he's like, "okay, back to Alice...but she's gone." Okay great thanks.
And the oddest thing to me is that everyone knows she will be back. How do they know this? And what has she done to deserve all of this attention?

This piece left me with many questions and I really want the answers to them.
