Week 7 - September

 


   This piece has taken the cycle of life on earth and shaped it into the form of this small cat. We don't

know how this cat died, all is that it's bones are now pressing into the earth. It may have been sick or


run over, or it may have died naturally; but its body is still disintegrating and becoming part of the


earth. Every individual being has different circumstances, but Purpura shows us in the form of a


cat that eventually all living things will turn into dirt. She shows us creatively that this is part of life


and we will all at one point or another become one with the earth. All that is now left of the cat are


the bones that are halfway into the earth, and left their imprint in the mud. Everything else has burned


 away. Its skin, its eyes, and its fur have all turned to dust and rejoined the earth as is the cycle of life.
